On April 1st, 2024, Vietcombank officially launches the Garmin Pay payment solution with Vietcombank Visa cards, bringing customers a seamless, fast, secure, and efficient one-touch payment experience, committed to security on Garmin's smartwatch lineup.

Customers can make transactions using their Vietcombank Visa card solely with the compact Garmin watch on their wrist. As an open platform, unrestricted by Android or iOS operating systems, this payment app does not require a connection to a phone. With just a simple tap on the POS machine, Vietcombank Visa cardholders can easily use and enjoy the one-touch payment experience. Because there's no need to carry a wallet or phone, this payment method is particularly suitable for active customers who frequently participate in outdoor sports or indoor physical activities.

Payment with cards via Garmin Pay is accepted at various contactless payment device locations such as convenience stores, pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, cafes, retail stores, and many other places in Vietnam and around the world.

Garmin's advanced security system ensures that bank card information is securely encrypted for each payment transaction. Card numbers are not stored on system servers or by merchants. Customers only need to enter their password once to authenticate Visa card payments via Garmin Pay continuously for 24 hours while wearing the watch. In cases where customer remove the watch from their wrist or turn off the heart rate monitor device, the watch will prompt for the password before payment. Additionally, Garmin Pay will automatically lock the wallet after three incorrect password input attempts, and customers will need to reset the password in the Garmin Connect app to continue using it.

Setting up Garmin Pay is simple; just connect your Garmin device to the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your mobile phone and maintain the connection while creating a Wallet and adding a card:
1. From the Garmin Connect app, select "Add" at the bottom right corner of the app.
2. Choose Garmin Pay, then press "Add Card."
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
After adding the card, you can select the card on the watch when making payments.
Customers can register for VCB DigiCard debit cards online via the VCB Digibank app, and the card will be issued and can be used immediately to set up Garmin Pay.
