Fraud warning related to Vietcombank Run & Share 2025

According to the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), recently there have been a number of fake fanpages impersonating the Vietcombank Run & Share 2025 race to scam and appropriate property of those who want to register to participate.

Specifically, these fanpages illegally use the logo, images and information of the race to create trust. The scammers call on people to transfer money to register to participate, even instructing them to join groups on Zalo or Telegram to perform "tasks" to receive incentives such as free participation fees or gifts.

These "tasks" often require participants to transfer money to personal or organizational accounts with the promise of an immediate refund. Initially, the scammers often refund in full with profits to create trust. However, after the victim transfers a larger amount of money, they will block communication and appropriate property.

Vietcombank affirms that the Vietcombank Run & Share 2025 race does not charge a registration fee. All official information about the race is only posted on the bank's official website at https://www.vietcombank.com.vn, the official fanpage at https://facebook.com/ilovevcb and the official fanpage of the Vietcombank Youth Union at https://www.facebook.com/tuoitrevcb as well as the official website of the race: https://vcbrace.vrun.vn. All other forms of registration are fake.

The bank recommends that customers and people only register to participate through Vietcombank's official channel, do not transfer money or follow the instructions of any fanpage or chat group of unknown origin. Before participating, people need to carefully research the legal status of the organizing unit to ensure transparency. If signs of fraud are detected, customers need to immediately report to the authorities for timely handling measures.

Previously, a similar fraud occurred in 2024 with a series of races organized or sponsored by Vietcombank. Vietcombank then issued a warning at: https://www.vietcombank.com.vn/vi-VN/Trang-thong-tin-dien-tu/Articles/2024/07/22/20240722_VCB-canh-bao-gia-mao-giai-chay
